Our client is an established Medical Device Manufacturer of state of the art neonatal ventilators. They are currently undergoing an R&D expansion following a recent product launch and are looking to add a software engineer to there team.

A role has been created for a software engineer with 3+ years’ experience for the development of a variety of existing and new safety critical medical device projects. You will be responsible for developing software elements within these projects, contributing to a team of 4 – 6 multi-disciplined software engineers. Reporting to the Team Lead, working collaboratively with team members and the Verification & Validation group.

This is a hands on role. The applicant will require a ‘can do’ approach focused on team orientated software development within an Agile Scrum environment. They will possess a passion for learning new technologies whilst catering for legacy systems and have demonstrable experience of the full software lifecycle (Requirements capture, analysis, design, development and test).


  • 3+ years embedded C++ experience.
  • Multithreaded/ multi-process development on RTOS’s.
  • Win32 APIs within an embedded time critical platform
  • Visual Studio
  • Agile Development with SOLID Design Principles.
  • Verification within a regulatory controlled environment (SA, CR, UT).
  • Risk-based design.



  • Multi-processor safety critical systems.
  • SVN/ GIT.
  • GoogleTest or similar.
  • C#/ Java.
  • UML.
  • Python – build scripts
  • Jenkins / MS Build
  • Version One/ Jira
  • Bespoke Embedded OS configurations: WEC 6/7, Linux, Android.
  • Android Studio, ARM Kiel IDEs
  • Medical Device software experience.
