Description

Responsible for managing large-scale, strategic growth programs with diverse, multi-functional core teams. Driving program execution whilst ensuring that the program/project activities meet internal and external customer requirements and follow our clients Phase Review discipline process.  Full responsibility and accountability for the programs they manage from ideation through commercialisation.

Project Functions

Project Execution: 60%

Core team leader/program manager of significant and complex strategic products. Direct responsibility for leading and delivering key focus products on time, within budget and with minimal long-term sustaining engineering required. Forms and leads cross-functional new product development team in executing project objectives. Fosters teamwork within project team and with other groups. Works with partner groups to gain alignment and support to achieve project objectives. Ensures a quality focus and customer needs are met.

Project Leadership: 30%

Provides direct and regular communication to senior management on progress, opportunities and issues. Additionally, interacts with Franchise leadership to help set Franchise direction for product pipeline and product commercialization. Collaborates with all levels of staff and management in the parleying and exchanging of information. Develops and cultivates cross departmental relationships. Collaborates with key project sponsors in bringing together a full range of cross functional expertise and proficiencies necessary for the successful commercialization of targeted projects. Develops and maintains detailed project schedules and budgets for assigned projects. Drives the tactical project execution. Routinely reports on the status of the project relative to the schedule and budgets.

Continuous Improvement: 10%

Actively leads and champions a culture of continuous improvement in improving working environment and business systems at S+N. Assists in revising existing R&D policies, procedures and processes. Participates in writing new procedures, where appropriate.

Knowledge and Experience:

Education           

An honours degree in a scientific/engineering discipline and/or proven and significant experience in a technical role within a new product development environment

Project Management accreditation highly desirable.

Licenses / Certifications: None

Experience        

Seasoned professional with ten or more years engineering and product development experience involving large multi-disciplinary teams (preferably in a medical device environment).

Proven track record to manage projects involving resources in multiple locations.
