Project Manager - Commercialisation - Pharmaceutical or Medical Device background - Cambridgeshire

The project manager will be responsible for the late-stage medical device development programmes, through industrialisation, design verification/method development and validation to post launch support. The role will focus on project management duties, ensuring the project meets client needs and the businesses commercial expectations.

Experience in two of the following areas is key to success in the role:

  • Planning and managing device design verification programmes: test method validation
  • Leading device design change programmes (may include supporting clients’ post-market surveillance activities)
  • Complaint handling or adverse event investigation


Technical Skills


  • Honours degree (at least 2.1 or equivalent) in relevant discipline e.g. Science, Life Science, Design or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in planning, control and delivery of development programmes on time and budget
  • Experience in managing multidisciplinary project teams
  • Experience in working in a global pharmaceutical company or tier-one medical device manufacturer
  • A proven track record in post-launch support of combination products and latter phases of product development, including change control and lifecycle management
  • Understanding and rigorous application of the requirements of key industry standards including ISO 13485, 14971, 20072 and 21 CFR Part 820
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis



  • Good understanding of the drug delivery devices market (injectables, Inhalation or drug packaging)
  • Good understanding of device manufacturing systems for high volume production, including automated assembly
  • Experience of regulatory audits e.g. FDA
  • Good understanding of statistical methodologies
