They are on the lookout for a dynamic Project Manager who is a self-starter and has the creative drive and passion to oversee all aspect of the Research and Development of their award-winning medical devices.


The Opportunity


Reporting to the Development Director, you will be responsible for leading medical device development projects in accordance with Design and Development Control procedures for compliance with ISO 13485.  You will integrate, maintain and improve different project management systems throughout the company utilizing Microsoft Project to generate project plans and compile documentation for design history files. Working closely with your team members, you will ensure that budgets are adhered to, projects are delivered in the agreed timescales and Executive management are kept updated.


The ideal fit for this role will be a flexible, highly organized, creative individual who can demonstrate initiative and a desire to learn and develop their existing knowledge. You will be able to evidence your previous Project Management skills in Medical Engineering and demonstrate your success in new product development by hitting your intended goals.


Essential Requirements


  • Degree in a relevant engineering, technical or scientific subject (2:1 or above)
  • Training in recognised project management techniques
  • A demonstrable extensive project management portfolio of successfully completed projects in a medical engineering environment;
  • Evidence of the achievement of new product development which has been successful in terms of the intended goals and outcomes
  • Evidence of competence in working across boundaries with various specialist functions
  • Familiarity with the requirements and importance of design transfer to manufacture
  • Experience of leadership or working within a Project Management Office which deals with multiple projects.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the key features of good practice in project management evidenced by real examples
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines across multiple simultaneous projects;


Desirable Requirements


  • Biomechanics/Orthopaedics, mechanical engineering design;
  • PRINCE2 and/or MSP
  • Knowledge of clinical trial processes and requirements
  • Business process re-engineering
  • Knowledge of CE-marking and US regulatory requirements relating to medical devices and regulated software.
  • Post-graduation - progress towards a relevant professional qualification
