12 months Contract - Home Based

Provide an appropriate level of innovative skill and knowledge in specific technical areas, which have been defined as major business opportunities or interests, and assist in the creation of products within these areas, which successfully meet customer and company needs. Contribute to the EU Medical Device Regulation transition program across the Joint Reconstruction business.


Principal Accountabilities:

Overall responsibility to his/her Manager for the attainment of projects goals agreed in relation to project objectives with the appropriate level of guidance and within agreed deadlines.

  • May be given responsibility for specifying project goals and timelines and identifying barriers for design, regulatory, production, and other interactions.
  • To provide cover as required for other project managers.
  • To adhere to the company’s procedures as detailed in the SOP manual.
  • Supporting regulatory submissions for existing products in strategic markets.
  • May handle several projects concurrently depending on the magnitude of each.
  • Will meet delivery promise in terms of budget and timescales.
  • Should work within a small team of the R&D Group which consists typically of 2, 3 or 4 Bioengineers with appropriate supervision


  • Determines objectives and plans schedules of specific tasks within a given project.
  • Develops test schedules.
  • Acts as a consultant on test-related issues for project teams.
  • Develops new test procedures and methods to assure program reliability objectives are being met.
  • Provides summary updates to project engineers and reliability development lab personnel.
  • Assures procurement of necessary equipment to complete projects and that equipment will be available to meet program timing.
  • Develops new or refined applications of engineering principles used in the analysis and resolution of technical issues during the product development process.
  • Conducts risk assessment activities such as failure mode evaluation and analysis (FMEA), and fault tree analysis (FTA).
  • Provides technical expertise and acts as a subject matter expert across a broad range of engineering areas and methodologies.
