Mechanical Engineer 6-month initial contract
Southend on Sea, Essex

Fancy designing, developing & introducing exciting new products?!
How about working for one of the key players in the UK's medical sector, with outstanding benefits and a great salary ?

Look no further.

Set in one of the countries most infamous seaside towns, the location is commutable due to the easy access from London Southend Airport (which even makes it commutable from Glasgow!). The numerous train stations in Southend also make for an effortless day trip to London, perfect for those impromptu west end outings!

So what about the role?

As part of your daily role, you will be responsible for, yet not limited to;
Delivering design and development work packages to the group leader, complying, of course, with Health & Safety & Environmental procedures.
Support the development of the manufacturing business, and design and develop products according to company procedures and regulatory standards.
Reviewing, analyzing and approving the product design within planned timescales and costs, and will compile technical documentation required to support the design process.
Assisting with management of work packages for new product development and product improvement projects.
Using technical and product knowledge along with your refined problem-solving abilities to support other team members and departments.
Last, but certainly not least, you will liaise and co-operate fully with management.

Sound like your cup of tea?

Our ideal candidate could be you:
If you're a technical researcher, interested in hunting down competitor analysis to support the companies processes.
If you are a creative thinker, someone who can develop ideas and develop detailed designs for manufacture.
If you are a cost-cutting ninja, able to undertake or supervise prototype and initial production - and successfully transfer these into production.
If you're able to produce, review, and update 3D CAD models, and implement design change control procedure.
If you are a serial analyzer, willing to commit tolerance analysis, product risk analysis, FMEA's, design reviews, value analysis and quality incident investigations, and able to use software analysis tools to produce robust designs (e.g. FEA or CFD analysis).
If you can assist in producing plans for timescales, costs, resource estimates, and monitor this effectively.
If you can lead design activities and coordinate various projects.
If you want to assist in production, contribute to the detection and elimination of potential products quality or service concerns, and participate in continuous improvement activities.
If you are a team player - able to undertake any assignment or duty.
If you are happy to help others, providing assistance to the Sustaining Engineering group when necessary.

So, if you've gotten this far and think you could be the one we are looking for, then give yourself a pat on the back - and then follow it up by contacting me.
