Our client is looking for Mechanical Engineers at all levels to fill positions in their Innovation Centre based in Cambridge. They are a global market leader in development and manufacture of drug delivery devices such as inhalers and auto-injector technologies.

Working with a team of around 40, it will be your job to work in partnership with customers to bring new ideas to the market and create a new generation of drug delivery devices.
As part of the Innovation Team, you will also get the chance to see your designs go from early concept stage right through to manufacture for patient use. 
The Mechanical Engineer roles are structured from entrant to principal level, however, at all levels you will carry out a range of engineering activities for innovation projects to identify, design and develop new drug delivery products.

As a Mechanical Engineer, your role duties will include developing new drug delivery devices through the whole product lifecycle, providing technical and design documentation, rapid prototyping and machining, diligent laboratory testing, mathematical modelling of system or component parts and carrying out technical analysis of mechanical systems (tolerance, FMEA, DFMA).
As a Senior/Principle Mechanical Engineer, this role will extend, and include leading, planning and executing, directing and mentoring less experienced colleagues, drafting client technical reports/design documentation, liaising with customers, as well as using your expertise to potentially line manage a small team. 

As a minimum requirement for a mechanical engineering role with our client, you must have a degree in Mechanical Engineering at a minimum of 2:1 (or equivalent), experience of using a 3D parametric system such as Solidworks, as well as confidence in carrying out engineering analysis. It would also be beneficial to the role to have knowledge of rapid prototyping/high volume manufacturing processes. 
Additionally to this, at a Principle level, you will have an expertise and significant experience in a similar role, ideally gained in the medical devices industry. You will have managed cross-disciplinary teams in new product/concept productions, and undertaken a project management role with a previous employer. You will also have developed complex injection moulded components, mechanisms, and products, as well as have gained expert knowledge of a range of manufacturing processes including high volume production of plastic components through your career.
