Our clients have developed a device that can detect the early stages of kidney reflux in children. They’re looking for a Hardware Engineer to become an active team member of their technical team. The successful candidate will be involved in the design and test of new products and must be a proactive team player who has excellent communication skills. The role will require both new development work and investigation of existing systems which will drive continuous product improvement. This is a permanent position and will require remote working.

Duties: 

• Define, design and test highly integrated usable instruments. 

• Liaise with Industrial Design, Engineering & Management teams. 

• Design, implement and test complementary sensors to be used in conjunction with an existing Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) system. 

• Understand and help improve measurement quality in existing instruments through experimental and design investigations. 

• Support the full development life cycle –requirements analysis, architecture, design, implementation, verification, validation and documentation. 

• Participate in code and design review procedures.  

• Contribute effectively to a cross-functional team. 

 

Essential Experience: 

• Minimum 3 years technical engineering industry experience or a PhD in biomedical/ electrical/ electronics engineering, or related discipline. 

• Bachelor’s degree in biomedical/electrical/electronics engineering or related discipline 

• Experience in part selection, schematic capture, hardware/firmware prototyping, lab investigations (oscilloscope work, fine soldering, signal and power integrity), Git and issue tracking. A working understanding of C, Python, Matlab would be helpful. 

• Experience in an ISO regulated industry would be considered an asset.
