Our client is a medical device company developing a novel, electromechanical medical device to detect kidney reflux in children. Their vision is to be ‘the method of choice for screening and monitoring kidney reflux in children, enhancing patient experience and clinical outcomes’.

The Role

The engineer will be an active member of the technical team and will report directly to the CTO. We are looking for a candidate that is proactive, a team player, and has excellent communication skills. The role will require exploration of novel signal processing methods for images and time-series data. The engineer will develop algorithms that are innovative and robust.

These algorithms will lead to high-quality code that drives continuous product improvement.

The candidate will:

• Define, design and test robust data analysis processes
• Use finite elements and the techniques of inverse problems to model low-frequency electrical current in the body and other measures, reconstruct conductivity distributions, and develop analysis of the resulting image series to present clinically relevant measures
• Liaise with Engineering and Management teams
• Analyse data from clinical studies and healthy volunteers
• Support the full development life cycle – requirements analysis, architecture, design, implementation, verification, validation and documentation
• Contribute to the eventual implementation of your algorithms in our device interface
• Participate in code and design review procedures
• Contribute and communicate effectively within a remote cross-functional team Job

Requirements:

• Master’s or PhD degree in biomedical, computer, electrical, or electronics engineering or related discipline
• Experience in MATLAB (essential), C/C++, Python, Git, issue tracking, continuous integration
• Experience within an ISO regulated industry would be beneficial
• Experience with the MATLAB software package EIDORS and electrical impedance tomography (EIT) beneficial
